About Gordon Treacy
Gordon Treacy racing trains under rules horses in both national hunt and on the flat. Having started off in racing from a young age you could say it was bred into him, with his dad and uncles all being jockeys and going on to train horses too. Gordon spent many years learning in valuable yards such as Willie Mullins and Emma Lavelles yard among others.
Gordon started as a jockey riding 5 winners but struggled with his weight. He was desperate to train racehorses so when opportunity arose he grabbed it with both hands. Starting off training pointers with only a few horses, he got the buzz with his first runner Pebbly Poi Toi winning the maiden at Milbourne St Andrew for Harry Beswick. Following on with that he had a great season with the other few horses he had and Pebbly was sold to America.
In Gordons first season, he trained 4 winners and several placings from only five runners. Gordon had only just got his under rules licence and ran 2 horses both being placed just before the end of last season so exciting times ahead.
About Amie Treacy
The Pointers have been handed over to his wife Amie. Amie plays a big part in the yard, so the transition was smooth. Amie Achieved in that season:
This season a lot of the young horses are ready to step up and have a go and we have lots of new exciting horses on the yard. We haven’t had it all handed to us and have have had to work from the bottom to gain owners trust in sending us horses. For those that have we massively appreciated it and we look forward to enjoying the journey with you. We couldn’t do it without a good team behind us.
